Community Service Coordinator

The Community Service Coordinator helps the pack give back to the community through organized service projects. Cub Scouting’s commitment to “Good Turns” — acts of service for others — is a core element of the program. This role was previously the standalone Service Chair position.

  • Registration: Registered adult leader of BSA; current with YPT
  • Inherits training requirements from the Program Chair role
  • Identify and plan service projects appropriate for Cub Scout age groups
  • Coordinate service project logistics: location, materials, permissions, safety planning
  • Communicate service project details to families
  • Ensure service hours are tracked and reported to the Committee Chair for council submission
  • Coordinate with the Advancement Chair on service-related advancement requirements
  • Plan at least 2 service projects per year to support Journey to Excellence goals
  • Ensure all service projects comply with BSA safety guidelines
