Fall Hike
Description
Section titled “Description”Annual pack fall hike open to all dens and families. Typically held in September or October at a local state park or preserve, offering a chance to enjoy autumn foliage while completing outdoor advancement requirements.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Fall Hike is a straightforward, low-barrier event that welcomes the entire pack community to the outdoors. With minimal gear requirements and a variety of local destinations, it is accessible for new families and engaging for experienced Scouts alike. The hike can be used to complete Outdoor Adventure rank requirements at multiple levels. Choose a trail appropriate for the youngest participants (Lion/Tiger age) while still offering enough terrain for older Webelos.

Event Details

- Typical hike length: 1–3 miles depending on Scout age range
- Class B t-shirts appropriate; sturdy footwear required
- Bring the Cub Scout Six Essentials: first aid kit, water, trail food, flashlight, sun protection, whistle
Coordination
Section titled “Coordination”- Program Chair coordinates site selection, logistics, and family communication
- Cubmaster supports the event and attends
- Den Leaders ensure den attendance and assist with supervision
