Assistant Popcorn Coordinator

The Assistant Popcorn Coordinator (a.k.a. Assistant Popcorn Kernel) supports the Popcorn Coordinator in managing the pack’s annual popcorn sale. This role helps with Show and Sell staffing, order collection, popcorn distribution, and money collection, and is prepared to step in if the Popcorn Coordinator is unavailable.

  • Registration: Registered adult leader of BSA; current with YPT
  • Inherits training requirements from the Fundraising Chair role
  • Assist the Popcorn Coordinator with all aspects of the annual popcorn sale
  • Help staff Show and Sell events — coordinate Scout and parent volunteers at merchant locations
  • Help distribute sales materials and popcorn to Scouts
  • Collect orders and money from Scouts; turn in to the Popcorn Coordinator or Treasurer
  • Help track individual Scout sales for Scout account credit
  • Attend the council popcorn kickoff if the Popcorn Coordinator cannot
  • Be prepared to step into the Popcorn Coordinator role if needed
  • Help acquire and distribute pack prizes and incentives for Scout sellers
