Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Empire Orienteering Scout-O is designed specifically for young Scouts and provides an introduction to map reading, compass use, and navigation skills. Participants follow a marked course using a control map, punching cards at checkpoints. The event is beginner-friendly and typically held at a local park in May. This is an excellent way to introduce Scouts to a lifetime outdoor skill while fulfilling advancement requirements related to navigation.
