Section titled “Role Summary”The Member Onboarding Coordinator welcomes and orients new families joining the pack, ensuring they feel connected and informed from their very first interaction. A strong onboarding experience is the best defense against early dropout.

Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Registration: Registered adult leader of BSA; current with YPT
- Inherits training requirements from the Membership Chair role
Core Responsibilities
Section titled “Core Responsibilities”- Serve as the welcoming ambassador for new pack families
- Conduct new family orientation meetings (September and as needed for mid-year joiners)
- Prepare and distribute a welcome package: pack overview, key contacts, calendar, uniform guide
- Connect each new Scout to their den leader within 48 hours of registration
- Ensure new families are set up in Scoutbook and on the pack email list
- Assign a “buddy family” in the den to help new families feel at home
- Conduct a Family Talent Survey to identify volunteer skills and availability
- Check in with new families after their first month to address questions or concerns
