Charter Presentation Ceremony

Formal ceremony at the January pack meeting in which the new charter is presented to the pack by the Charter Organization Representative, renewing the pack’s sanction for the new year.

Every BSA pack must renew its charter annually through its chartered organization. The Charter Presentation Ceremony is the formal, public moment when the signed charter is presented to the pack at a pack meeting. This ceremony reinforces the pack’s relationship with its chartered organization and reminds Scouts and families of the institutional foundation that makes Scouting possible. The ceremony is brief but meaningful and should be conducted with appropriate ceremony.
