Historian

Role Summary

The Historian preserves the history and traditions of the troop. This Scout documents troop activities through photographs, records, scrapbooks, or digital media, creating a lasting record of the troop’s experiences and achievements.

Requirements

Selection: Appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader with Scoutmaster approval
Training: Should complete Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)

Core Responsibilities

Collect and preserve troop photographs, news stories, and memorabilia
Maintain a troop scrapbook, digital archive, or historical display
Document troop activities, outings, service projects, and special events
Take or coordinate photographs at troop events
Report on troop history at courts of honor and special occasions
Work with the troop webmaster or communications team to share troop stories
Keep a record of troop award recipients and accomplishments
